Did my Monday night Locking Class tonight. I struggled a bit as the teacher went quite fast due to the other people there being regulars. I noticed myself getting a little bit irritated with him as its meant to be a beginners class and I wanted to give up cos it was hard. I noticed my internal chatter criticising me, and beginning to justify why I could not do the moves because it was only my second class and the others had been more than me etc, and then I let all that story go and focussed and surprise surprise I picked it up and was able to get the moves.
Its amazing when you don't tune in to the internal chatter how much freer I am to really learn the choreography and pick stuff up way faster.
I find when I really let myself go and get into my dancing that its like being transported to another world where all worries and concerns disappear and there is just me, my body and the beat of the music flowing through me, guiding me. Its a great feeling.
